Moivaro Lodges & Tented Camps offers a variety of activities at all locations spread across northern Tanzania. We can create a unique program including culture, hiking, wildlife, game drives, swimming, and so much more! The activities can be arranged beforehand or on arrival at each location. Visit a Maasai village

Experience what it is like to live in the Maasai tribe. Together with our guide, you can visit a Maasai village where you can learn about their lifestyle, culture, traditions, and perhaps join in a dance or a jump!

Day trip to Tarangire National Park

Visit one of the beautiful national parks around the area. Tarangire National Park is known as the home of elephants and the beautiful baobab trees. But of course there is much more to see! Explore the lush environment of the national park and all the wildlife it has to offer.

Day trip to Lake Manyara National Park

Visit one of the beautiful national parks around the area. Here you can spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, buffaloes, countless birds, and much more! Lake Manyara National Park is known for its tree climbing lions, flamingo's, and large elephant herds that roam around the park.

Day trip to Arusha National Park

Visit one of the smallest but lovely national parks in Tanzania. A day trip includes a visit to the Ngurudoto Crater, also known as 'Little Ngorongoro Crater', as well as Momela Lake where you can find a wide range of bird species. Experience a walking safari with a professional ranger to walk amongst the wildlife.

Day trip to Chemka hot springs

Visit a natural hot springs in the area, where you can spend the whole day relaxing, jumping into the clear waters, and taking a break.

Day trip to Ngorongoro Crater

Visit one of the previous world's natural wonders ~ the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is over 20 km wide and approximately 600 m deep. The Crater is famous for the presence of the Big Five; buffalos, black rhinos, elephants, lions, and leopards. It also contains many other animals such as cheetahs, zebras, hippos, serval cats, lions, and wildebeest. A natural wonder you cannot miss!

Day trip in the Serengeti

Enjoy the famous Serengeti National Park for a full day game drive! Here you can witness the Great Migration, and see wildlife in all sorts, shapes and sizes.

Moivaro Village Walk or Bike ride

Visit Moivaro village to learn about the Tanzanian culture and lifestyle. We will also pass by a local banana beer brewery, where you can taste this exotic drink.

Town visit of Arusha or Moshi with local guide

Spend a day in Arusha or Moshi town. You can visit the highlights, walk along the streets, and of course a great chance to pass by a souvenir market for any gifts back home. We can cater the trip according to your interests and preferences.

Mountain bike trail

Discover the outskirts of Lake Manyara by mountain bike. Follow our trail and discover more little creatures in the beautiful ecosystem around the lake. Also nice to visit the town of Mto wa Mbu by bike.

Lake Manyara walk

Discover the outskirts of Lake Manyara by foot. With our guide, you can safely explore the nature and wildlife surrounding Migunga Tented Camp.

Early morning bird walk

Follow our bird trail to discover more bird species around the camp. Don’t forget to bring binoculars!

Village tour of Mto Wa Mbu

Discover the village of Mto wa Mbu. Here you can experience the bustling nature of local markets, taste fresh fruits sold beside the road, or visit the arts and crafts market.

Lake Natron excursions

There is much to do at Lake Natron. We offer several different hikes depending on your preferences. They range from 45 minutes to 5 hours, from waterfalls to volcanoes - choose your pick! Definitely do not miss out on a late afternoon visit to the lake in order to see the thousands of flamingoes that stay by the lake. It is an unforgettable sight.

Waterfall hike

We offer several different hikes depending on your preferences. They range from 45 minutes to 5 hours, the most common waterfall hike leading straight to the waterfall where you can take some time to cool off in the fresh waters of the waterfall. Another option is to hike above the waterfall, and hear the rushing sounds below.

Trek by springs of Engaresero River

At Lake Natron there is much to do in regards to hikes, including a trek by the springs of the Engaresero River.

Maasai cultural excursions (Boma visit, Medicine walk, Maasai dance)

Visit a Maasai village at Lake Natron, as this land is home to the pastoralist tribe. A cultural excursion can include a Boma visit, a medicine walk where you learn about traditional natural remedies, and of course a Maasai dance.

Climbing Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano

One of the most challenging hikes we have to offer - climbing the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano, also known as 'Mountain of God'. Starting in the middle of the night, you will hike to the top of the volcano by sunrise, with beautiful views of the landscapes below, and if you're lucky you'll even spot some lava. It is a sight you will not quickly forget, and a very rewarding climb.

Night game drive

Experience a game drive in the dark! Safari by night is a totally new experience where you dive into the world of nocturnal animals. See what you can spot by flashlight, and hear the different sounds that come with nightfall.

Nature Walk

Together with a guide you will be taken on a walk close to the tented camp. Here you can experience and observe the natural wildlife and vegetation by foot.

Walking Safari

Explore a national park with a professional ranger. Walk amongst the giraffes and buffaloes to become part of the natural wildlife.

Cultural Tour

Take a tour around the area in order to learn about the surrounding culture and lifestyle.

Coffee Estate Tour

Being set in a coffee estate, take the tour to learn about how coffee is made. You will get the chance to walk around the coffee estate and see the process from start to finish.

Forest walks

By being located on the rim of the Ngorongoro forest, a professional ranger can take you on a walk in the forest. You can choose between several routes, for example a forest walk around the camp or a walk towards the Ngorongoro Crater gate. Who knows what might come across your path…

Visit to the Hadzabe & Datoga tribes

The Hadzabe tribe is one of the last hunter gatherer tribes in Africa. At Tindiga you can visit the Lake Eyasi bushmen to experience their lifestyle. Learn about the hunters and gatherers, who will teach you how to hunt, make fire, natural remedies, and the vegetation around the area.

In addition you will visit the Datoga tribe. They are skilled and known for their blacksmithing, beadwork, brass bracelets and necklaces, as well as supplying the Hadzabe tribe with arrowheads.
