Visit a Maasai village at Lake Natron, as this land is home to the pastoralist tribe. A cultural excursion can include a Boma visit, a medicine walk where you learn about traditional natural remedies, and of course a Maasai dance.

From our other lodges we can also organize a visit to a Masaai village. Experience what it is like to live in the Maasai tribe. Together with our guide, you can learn about their lifestyle, culture, traditions, and perhaps join in a dance or a jump!

Explore a national park with a professional ranger. Walk amongst the giraffes and buffaloes to become part of the natural wildlife.

Visit one of the previous world's natural wonders ~ the Ngorongoro Crater. The crater is over 20 km wide and approximately 600 m deep. The Crater is famous for the presence of the Big Five; buffalos, black rhinos, elephants, lions, and leopards. It also contains many other animals such as cheetahs, zebras, hippos, serval cats, lions, and wildebeest. A natural wonder you cannot miss!

Spend a day in Arusha or Moshi town. You can visit the highlights, walk along the streets, and of course a great chance to pass by a souvenir market for any gifts back home. We can cater the trip according to your interests and preferences.

In Moshi, you can visit the Materuni waterfalls and get a chance to walk around a coffee farm and village.

At Lake Natron there is much to do in regards to hikes, including a trek by the springs of the Engaresero River.

There are different hikes ranging from 45 minutes to 5 hours, the most common trek leading straight to the waterfall where you can take some time to cool off in the fresh waters of the waterfall. Another option is to hike above the waterfall, and hear the rushing sounds below.

The Hadzabe tribe is one of the last hunter gatherer tribes in Africa. At Tindiga you can visit the Lake Eyasi bushmen to experience their lifestyle. Learn about the hunters and gatherers, who will teach you how to hunt, make fire, natural remedies, and the vegetation around the area.

In addition you will visit the Datoga tribe. They are skilled and known for their blacksmithing, beadwork, brass bracelets and necklaces, as well as supplying the Hadzabe tribe with arrowheads. 

At Moivaro Lodge we offer a comfortable conference facility, hosting up to 50 participants. The conference building is on the Moivaro compound, but about 10 minutes walk from the lodge, also offering a nice break in between conference sessions.
