Welcome to Moivaro Lodge, where you will find a charming atmosphere and enjoy every comfort you need.

Moivaro Lodge is situated right in the heart of beautiful, natural scenery whilst only being 7 km from the town of Arusha: an ideal spot to enjoy the impressive flora and fauna of East Africa.

At Moivaro Lodge we will ensure that you are able to relax in the unique location, before embarking on a safari or climbing adventure.

Our spacious thatched brick cottages are set in a lovely tropical garden, with private verandas to gaurantee every visitor all the privacy needed. Relax and enjoy the beautiful vista of Mount Meru from the comfortable veranda, go for a stroll around the Moivaro property walking trail, or laze at the pool nestling in the midst of tropical trees and coffee plants.

Explore the area

As a daily activity we arrange the Moivaro Village Walk. A unique opportunity to see everyday life in Tanzania and make closer contact with the local people. You can visit a local banana beer brewery and sample its beer; or hear the story of a local eccentric, and marvel at the tree house he fashioned for himself. A walk is typically 2 hours long and can involve a climb up Oldonyo Maas Hill for those looking for a more demanding experience.

Moivaro Village Walk or Bike ride

Visit Moivaro village to learn about the Tanzanian culture and lifestyle. With a guide, you will walk around the village and the coffee plantation, learning about how coffee is locally processed. You will also pass by a local banana beer brewery, where you can taste this exotic drink.

Walking Safari

Explore a national park with a professional ranger. Walk amongst the giraffes and buffaloes to become part of the natural wildlife.

*This activity is only available in Arusha National Park and Ikoma area in the Serengeti.

Day trip to Tarangire National Park

Visit one of the beautiful national parks around the area. Tarangire National Park is known as the home of elephants and the beautiful baobab trees. But of course there is much more to see! Explore the lush environment of the national park and all the wildlife it has to offer.

Day trip to Lake Manyara National Park

Visit one of the beautiful national parks around the area. Here you can spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, buffaloes, countless birds, and much more! Lake Manyara National Park is known for its tree climbing lions, flamingo's, and large elephant herds that roam around the park.

Day trip to Arusha National Park

Visit one of the smallest but lovely national parks in Tanzania. A day trip includes a visit to the Ngurudoto Crater, also known as 'Little Ngorongoro Crater', as well as Momela Lake where you can find a wide range of bird species. Experience a walking safari with a professional ranger to walk amongst the wildlife.

Town visit of Arusha or Moshi with local guide

Spend a day in Arusha or Moshi town. You can visit the highlights, walk along the streets, and of course a great chance to pass by a souvenir market for any gifts back home. We can cater the trip according to your interests and preferences.

In Moshi, you can visit the Materuni waterfalls and get a chance to walk around a coffee farm and village.

Conference Facility

At Moivaro Lodge we offer a comfortable conference facility, hosting up to 50 participants. The conference building is on the Moivaro compound, but about 10 minutes walk from the lodge, also offering a nice break in between conference sessions.
